Smt. Nirothini Pararajasingam, President and CEO of Nirthyakalanjali Dance Academy and Niro Dance Creations is well known to all through her dedication of promoting Indian Classical Dances and Other contemporary fusion dances among the younger generation for the past 25 years. As an accomplished Indian classical dance performer, choreographer and teacher who strongly believe in promoting values of Indian culture through Bharathanatyam. She received her initial training in Bharathanatyam from well-known Gurus, including Smt. Balasundari Kanagasabai and Smt. Gowri Muthukumaraswami. She later mastered specialized techniques in Bharathanatyam through the guidance of Guru Vijayambikai Indrakumar. Her studies were concluded through the teachings of Guru Adayar K. Lakshmanan. She completed her Bharatha Choodamani diploma for dance and Nattuvangam at the Institute of Bharathachoodamani and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Madras University.  In 1984 she began her teaching career in science and dance at the Colombo Hindu Ladies College in Sri Lanka for a duration of 5 years. During this period of time she participated in numerous performances along with her students. This included the Harichandra Ballet for which she was awarded the title of “Nirthya Choodamani”; and Beeshma Ballet, which was the first production to be choreographed with over 90 students. In 1990, she initiated Nirthya Kalanjali Academy of Fine Arts in Toronto, Ontario. Her troop has performed in various multicultural events and media productions. In addition, she is a director of the Tamil Cultural Progressive Organization – Canada and is now also a member of the South Asian Philanthropic Council of the Scarborough Hospital. Overall, she is a creative choreographer who has successfully produced several programs and received numerous awards. Promotes self-discipline, culture and arts for youth within the South Asian Community.  She has choreographed Bharathanatyam performances for various community celebrations, fundraising events and mentoring to build skills that can be applied in real life through Bharathanatyam, which in turn inculcates among the students self- discipline for prosperity.
